Safety

Please keep in mind that you are in a foreign country and things may not work the same way as in your country. Never let your better judgment falter, keep your wits about you just as you would anywhere in the world.

At the resort

The property is very safe and secure. There are guards at the main entrance, they check everyone coming in for their bracelets. The grounds are patrolled throughout the day and night. I walked alone at night, never once feeling threatened, but of course, I made sure I was aware of my surroundings.

Like any other part of the world, use caution at night, be aware of your surroundings, don't be so intoxicated that you don't know where you are. Be careful when inviting strangers into your room. Watch important personal belongings and put valuables in the safety boxes in your room.

Security cameras

Almost 100 security cameras have been set up around the resort in places like hallways, lobbies, restaurants, parking areas, reception, pools, etc. This is currently the largest camera network in the Mayan Riviera. This is for guest's protection and the resort's protection, especially handy in cases of injuries, etc. All the cameras are fed to the security area and automatically recorded. The recordings are kept for at least a week, and kept longer if a particular issue requires it to be kept longer. The image is very crisp and clear and in full colour.

Off the resort

Alcohol and drugs are the major causes of arrests of tourists in Mexico. When driving, follow the rules of the road, do not speed or drive recklessly and you shouldn't encounter any police.

Don't carry all your valuables on your person. Leave them in the safe at the resort
